Waxing
Waxing is an effective and safe method of removing hair from the face and body. Unlike shaving or depilatory creams, the hair is removed at the root rather than above the skin’s surface, allowing the hair to grow back more slowly and less stubbly. The process can be a little uncomfortable to begin with, as years of shaving can make the roots very strong, but over time this should decrease significantly. For ladies, It is also wise to avoid waxing in the week before your period is due as increased hormones can make you extra sensitive.
Waxing will leave your skin soft, hair free for up to 4 weeks and without the nicks, rashes and burns you can often experience with shaving. Waxing does NOT remove hair permanently, it will grow back. However, over time some people do find that their hair growth becomes less dense.
Please note. If you are thinking of trying waxing for the first time, I recommend that you let the hair grow for at least 2 weeks or to a minimum length of 5mm. This will allow for a much more effective result. Keeping your skin in tip top condition by exfoliating and moisturising regularly will also be beneficial as excess dead skin will create a barrier between the hair and the wax and will also encourage in-grown hairs to form between waxing appointments.

Brazilian wax
A vertical strip is left at the front, approx 2 to 3 fingers in width, hair is NOT removed from the labia but is from the buttocks if required.
Playboy wax
A vertical strip is left at the front, approx 1 finger in width, hair is removed from the labia and also the buttocks if required.
Hollywood/Sphynx wax
All hair is removed including the buttocks.
How Painful is Brazilian waxing?
There is a small amount of discomfort during the removal of the wax, but a specialist wax is used for this type of hair removal to minimise discomfort and post waxing redness etc. I suggest taking some form of pain relief an hour before your appointment to minimise sensitivity. Please ONLY take any such medicines if you are safe to do so.
How often should I have it done?
I recommend that any waxing should be performed every 4-6 weeks to gain optimum results.
